Inkarnate
Inkarnate is software as a service, requires Internet connection, and ongoing monthly subscription to get most, if not all the features. The software looked okay, a Google Ad led me to their site when I was researching Wonderdraft. I went with Megasploot's Wonderdraft as it was one-time purchase, similar features, and uses my own computing. Wonderdraft will save me hundreds if not thousands of dollars and time over the years. I use Profantasy Software for my power mapping tool.
Virtual Table Top (VTT) software
I dabbled in VTT software about six years ago but I didn't have time and the features and functionality were not up to my standards. I now have more time and the software has grown in feature set and capabilities, so I am now, in September 2026, trying both Fantasy Grounds Unity and Foundry VTT.
VTT is an application acting as a virtual table top primarily intended to supplement or replace pen and paper style narrative role playing games.
Fantasy Grounds is designed to perform many of the things you can do while playing at a conventional gaming table and move it online.
Run games as the game master or take part as a player, the application provides all the necessary tools to communicate, manage information and perform tasks such as rolling the dice or creating drawings.

I like this policy, I am 98% confident that I will be using their service on and off over the years.
World Anvil
World Anvil is a set of worldbuilding tools that helps you create,organize and store your world setting.
World Anvil seems feature rich. I need to play around with their services before I decide and they do have a free tier. If I like, I'll likely buy a lifetime membership. I'm curious about their export content rules and add-on costs for exceeding what appears to be meager limits to their service offerings.
